I have always loved art but never had the time to pursue it until I retired. At that time I had no idea as to which medium interested me.  Eventually I ended up trying and loving watercolour thanks to a wonderful teacher, Marion Stevenson. She taught out of her home in Courtice and I was very fortunate to learn from her for 6 years.  The softness and many different techniques of this medium are amazing.

In the fall of 2017, while visiting a local art show, I saw a painting done in Alcohol Ink...a medium I had never seen before.  The colours were so vibrant and the texture was like satin. Mesmerizing!! I was so excited to try this!!  After doing my research I purchased my first alcohol inks.  Over time, and with a lot of experimenting and a few online classes,  I have come to the conclusion that these inks present many challenges.  They seem to have a mind of their own.  But I am still captivated and always learning and often surprised while enjoying the process....most days..  The flow and motion of this medium, combined with the unique vibrancy are definitely part of its charm.
