Lynne Rempel

Artist Statement
Ontario-based artist, Lynne Anderson Rempel is known for her still life oil paintings and landscapes, which evoke emotion through movement and light. Drawing on inspiration from the northern landscapes of Ontario and the prairies of her childhood upbringing, Rempel's focus is on celebrating the "everyday".
She paints from her original photographs and embraces a looser brushstroke in her landscape pieces, indicative of her love for Impressionism. She is not limited by one particular subject matter, reflecting the diversified life experiences that push her creativity forward. Passionate about evoking emotion in viewers, Rempel aims to leave the observer with a warm and memorable feeling.
Rempel discovered her love for painting at the age of 25. Despite her then-business environment career, she always dabbled in art and ultimately pursued her life-long passion after retirement. Factor in early composition classes at the Winnipeg Symposium of Art and the guidance of master artist Joyce Anderson, Rempel has honed an individualistic style.
Honours and awards for various portraits were especially encouraging.
Her work adorns private collections and has been featured in several art spaces. She is a member of the Port Perry Art Association, and SCA.
Rempel's influences are deeply rooted in the work of Monet and Cezanne. This speaks to her interest in light, color, and resulting movement in her pieces.
“I hope to imbue everyday lives with beauty through art. It is my goal to add warmth to observers' lives and the world of art as a whole.”
